Reduce Spam With Google Mail

If your inbox like so many, is currently a victim of spam email you know how annoying it can be. These spam emails are always an annoyance and can waste valuable time trying to filter through and delete.  In the worst cases, it can cause damage to your company via malicious software and phishing. 

Spam emails are a real problem facing a large number of people every single day and the problem seems to be on the rise. Official research from the popular Internet Security Company 'McAfee' show that a staggering 92% of every email sent is spam which is an all time high.

Here at PJ Web we were once bombarded by spam emails daily so we have experienced firsthand the problems that can accompany mass spam.  However since switching our email host to Google Mail our spam has virtually been reduced to zero which illustrates just how effective Google Mail can be. Google Mail follows the simple steps listed below to try and eliminate spam emails arriving in your inbox.

  1. All incoming mail is filtered by Google Mail server side before it reaches your inbox.
  2. Any spam emails that are flagged up by Google Mail are sent to your webmail's spam folder
  3. Outlook only downloads your webmail's inbox folder, meaning spam will never appear in your inbox and you won't waste time downloading emails that you won't want.

If for any reason emails which are not spam are flagged by the filter, simply mark this as non spam and emails from that address will subsequently be downloaded to your inbox.

For those people with mobile devices such as a Blackberry or iPhone, Google Mail supports push email, meaning you can receive your emails instantly on your mobile device which in this day is almost a necessity.

Currently the free version of Google Mail allows access to up to 50 accounts and comes with the full spam filters options. Google Mail is simple to sync to your Outlook as well as mobile devices making implementing easy and painless.
