E-Commerce Web Site Case Study
The Client
Betterlifehealthcare.com is a UK national mobility, disability and healthcare product supplier to the general public, private/trade organisations and the UK NHS, supplying customers housed within mainland UK, Europe, Asia and the Americas. Betterlifehealthcare.com Ltd has over ten years experience within the mobility, disability and healthcare market and bases its business culture on the values of quality products, highly competitive prices and superior customer service.
The Task
Betterlifehealthcare Ltd was set up as the online trading business for UKS Mobility Preston. Its aim was to apply the existing business ethos and tap into the online marketplace, thus expanding from the North West to national and international markets.
In order to increase the size of their ‘shop window’ and in effect open their business on a 24/7 basis, Betterlifehealthcare needed a professionally design ad built e-commerce website - within a given budget.
They required a site that was expandable to accommodate their growing product lines and needed to be able to easily implement updates in-house.
The site also had to be constructed in line with WAI guidelines in order to comply with the Disability Discrimination act that came into force on 1st October 2004.
The Solution
Having thoroughly researched the market for suitable web designers and developers Betterlifehealthcare selected PJ Web Solutions as their preferred supplier, “Following several meetings with plausible development teams we selected PJ Web based on the ability to establish a trusting partnership, capacity to handle future development work and above all their dedication and work ethic to support our ambitious growth plans”.
A comprehensive site specification and brief was drawn up after a thorough brainstorming session. Design visuals soon followed and the site was constructed on time and on budget in August 2004.
The Outcome
Since its launch in August Betterlifehealthcare.com now wholly owns UKS Mobility Preston and has doubled its staff size over the past three months to maintain its significant growth since going live with the website. The site now generates in the region of 18-25,000 visitors per month based on aggressive marketing campaigns and conversion strategies.
The website goes through a quarterly change process to ensure its market share in line with revenues continually grows according to the aspirations of the management of Betterlifehealthcare Ltd. PJ Web continues to work with Betterlifehealthcare on a weekly basis and remains its sole development and design partner.
